the trees run up against a long cliff wall, and you walk along side the rocky surface for a time, waiting for something to happen... somewhere. you sit down in the shade of a particularily large tree, picking up a pinecone and turning it over and over in your hands. you stare up at the large cliff-face before you, then turn your head as you hear the sound of hoofs on rock. when no one makes themselves visible, you stand and look around.
"Over here..."
you look for the source of the voice, and to your right you see an equine head poked out of the rock. staring at the head in confusion, the equine suddenly seems to remember, and steps out of the rock, her grey coat shadowed by the trees around her. a teal mane spikes over her eyes, kept back by a red headband. the same red material is tied around her forehoofs and her lions tail. she lifts her head, eyes on you, a serious glint in her eye. you take an uncertain step back as she takes one towards you.

"Got any candy?"
you sweatdrop and stare at the mare, then shake your head no. she twists her face into a sad frown, flicking her tail in annoyance as she stares down. "aww maaan... Nobody has any candy around here. What do I have to do to get some candy?! I guess I'll have to keep... borrowing... Elae's." she begins talking to herself, and you just stand, watching her uneasily. finally she looks back to you, remembering that you're there, and stands back up, attempting to look serious once more. "Sorry. I'm Esashantu, or... in your language, it means 'I win.'" she half smiles at you, tilting her head. "I'm a Ki'rin... not too many of us are in the outer realms, other than Sationala. Hopefully another will realize that the council is wrong, and will make the journey away from there, to join me here." with that, she turns and trots back into the cliffwall, and you see that the appearance of that part of the surface shimmers slightly. a mask to confuse travelers, then. you stare after her, then shrug and walk on.
